CFD offers the ability to simulate and analyze complex fluid flow to predict the behavior of engineered products and physical situations. Above, CFD is used to model the flow and temperature of water (left) and air (right) in a proof-of-concept cooling application.
Time-dependent simulation models allow scientists and engineers to track the evolution of dynamic processes such as pressure or temperature changes and material deformation. The example above models the simulated cooling of a metal slab through direct contact with a water-cooled plate and ambient air flow.
